We are proud to announce the opening of a new Gano Excel Social Center in the beautiful city of Monterey, Mexico!

As you may have heard on our recent edition of “The Company Cup,” we are about to launch an exciting new “Harmonize” initiative. Starting in the month of May, we will be embarking on a 4 month campaign that will encourage people all over the world to get up off of their couches, dust off their running (or walking) shoes, and get some exercise – all in the name of charity. IT IS UP TO ME is an initiative that will celebrate our Founder and his vision, raise money for any number of charities, and inspire people to engage in a healthy activity. Here’s how it works:

We’d like to present Mr. Leow with a special award in recognition of his exceptional humanitarian efforts, but it’s an awful long way to Malaysia – 20,900 Kilometers, to be exact. You can help us get it there – 5 kilometers at a time. At any given time of the year there are 5K walks/runs being held all over the country, and most of these are organized as a benefit for one charitable organization or another. Affiliates participating in the IT IS UP TO ME initiative simply need to make a one time, $5 dollar donation in the Back Office and they will receive a Harmonize T-Shirt, wrist band, and water bottle. If you attend a 5K event or similar charity event, and send us a picture or video wearing the Harmonize t-shirt and wrist band, we will send you a special, limited edition 2011 Harmonize Pin. When enough Affiliates have participated in 5K races to total 20,900 Kilometers, we will present Mr. Leow with a special IT IS UP TO ME Monument, and a Gano Excel Vision book of the stories of every Affiliate who participated.

Your Daily Dose of Antioxidants

Antioxidant - it's a word that floats around quite a bit in the "wellness universe." While most of us have a general idea that Antioxidants are good for us, we probably aren't too sure about what it is that they do, so here's a crash course:

An antioxidant is a molecule that prevents the oxidation of other molecules.  Oxidation can produce "free radicals" that start chain reactions that can damage or kill cells.  Antioxidants terminate these destructive chain reactions.  Sounds like a good thing, right?

Antioxidant based drugs are currently used to treat lung disease, malaria and even the common cold.  The medical community has also had great deal of hope for antioxidants in the treatment and prevention of cancer, but this idea hasn't been definitively proven – until now!

Researchers from Jefferson's Kimmel Cancer Center have found genetic evidence suggesting that Antioxidants can help prevent and treat cancer because they fight against mitochondrial oxidative stress—a culprit in driving tumor growth. The study's lead researcher Michael P. Lisanti, M.D., Ph.D. says "Now that we have genetic proof that oxidative stress and resulting autophagy are important for driving tumor growth, we should re-consider using antioxidants and autophagy inhibitors as anti-cancer agents."

So what exactly does all of this have to do with Gano Excel?  A lot, actually. A recent study has shown that coffee is the number one source of antioxidants in the U.S. Diet.  If you take that information and add it to the fact that our exclusive Ganoderma lucidum extract is just chock full of antioxidants, it's easy to see why you should be excited about this amazing new findings.

Schok-ing Changes!

Greetings, Gano Excellers!  We've got a bunch of exciting changes in the works as spring begins, and we've just received the "green light" to share one of these developments with you.  We are making a few changes to our increasingly popular Schokolade product.  The packaging for Schokolade will be transforming into a more streamlined, travel friendly box size, a change which carries the added benefit of a lower shipping cost! To accommodate this design, a box of Schokolade will now contain 20, rather than 30 sachets, making the product quantity consistent with the rest of our GanoCafé signature line of products.
 
But the box isn't the only thing changing about Schokolade…we are excited to announce that each sachet of Schokolade will now contain a higher amount of Ganoderma lucidum than ever before.  This is great news for all you parents who use Schokolade as a great way to share the benefits of Ganoderma lucidum with your children.  All of you non-coffee drinkers out there should be celebrating as well – your delicious method of benefiting from our wonder-herb just got a serious upgrade!
