What if we told you a short, easy-to-read book -- no longer than The Cat in the Hat, really -- held the secrets to a rich, fulfilled life? What if this book was about a man who lived a life of...
- Peace and contentment?
- Respect for others -- and himself?
- Great love for family and friends?
- Community respect and the value of the individual?
It's hard to believe. But such a book crossed our desk just the other day. It's called The Richest Man in Town, and it's by Midwestern inspirational speaker V.J. Smith. It's the story of Marty, a Wal-Mart check-out attendant who taught simple lessons to each and every customer he encountered -- so much so that he was named a "Wal-Mart Hero" and had college course in customer service taught about him.
A Wal-Mart cashier who changed lives everyday. That's inspirational. And how did he change people's lives?
He shook their hands. He asked them how they were. He looked them in the eyes when he spoke to them. Simple gestures all, but simple gestures that signaled something bigger: a desire to connect with people.
What does it have to do with Gano Excel?
As a network marketing company, Gano Excel is in a unique position to touch people on more than a financial level. Even beyond the miraculous health benefits of our products and the earning potential of our compensation plan, Gano Excel affiliates can change lives by reaching out to people in need of affection, affirmation, and community support.
Think about what you do for a minute. Sure, you share coffee and build strong groups; that's a given. But go beyond that -- think about...
- Meetings with your group -- a chance to connect with new friends, to share victories and success stories, to offer consolation during tough times;
- Introducing people to a product you know will change their lives -- giving them hope, inspiring them to better themselves;
- Teaching people to do what you've done -- becoming a coach and mentor on the path to enriched living;
- Helping others find respect for themselves -- showing them that they ARE worthwhile, that they DO matter, that they CAN make things happen in their lives;
Isn't that why we really get involved in network marketing companies like Gano Excel?
It's about more than money: it's about Marty's simple lessons in respect for others and yourself, in treating each and every person like they are special, like they can make a difference in the world.
The magic of it is, they can! We hear stories about lives enriched and futures secured everyday. Each and every person who has been touched by this organization was first touched by a person: someone who cared enough about them to share the news about a truly life-changing opportunity.
As Marty puts it, "You have to look people dead in the eye when you shake their hand. That's the only way to go. I'm trying to show them that I appreciate them."
Sharing the news about Gano Excel is about more than building a team; it's about showing the people you love, and people you want to help, that you appreciate them enough to bring them along with you on the path to whole-person enrichment. If you lose sight of that, you lose sight of what makes this industry and company so wonderful!
One of my top 5 books!
